Our church has been active in Monroe since 1970. Our goal is to help people draw closer to God, to love people inside and outside the church as Jesus would love them, and to put our faith into action in our lives and in our community.
Beliefs and Values
We believe the Bible was written by man under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and is without error or mistake.(Jn. 14:26; II Tim. 3:15-17)
We believe God created all. He spoke this earth into existence just by the breathe of His voice. (Gen. 1.1)
We believe all mankind has sinned – willfully rebelled and disobeyed God, therefore, apart from Christ, mankind is hopeless and lost. (Gen. 3:14-16; Rom. 3:10-12, 23).
God created us to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or in union with God, through forgiveness and salvation. To be with God for eternity will be in a place called Heaven. It will be a place of renewed Creation (Is. 66:22) where man dwells with God (Rev. 21:2-3). Heaven will be absent of all sin, destruction, decay, and suffering (Rom. 8:21; Gen. 3:18).
Jesus summarized the priorities of the believer in these two central Bible passages:
The Great Commandment Matthew 22: 34-40
34 Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. 35 One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37 Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
The Great Commission: Matthew 28: 18-20
18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.
And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
