Who We Are at Monroe Christian Church

We are a body of believers who are sincerely following God's leading
as we seek to grow in spiritual strength.

Marv and Marge

Marvin and Marge Flowers met at Ozark Christian College, during the semester that Marv started preaching and teaching God's people about His word. They have worked together to communicate clearly by balancing a love for the Bible and a passion for creative images and ideas. Their three adult children have kept them anchored in the real world of ministry and life.

Marvin and Marge Flowers come to MCC as a part of a leadership team seeking to restore New Testament Christianity. He was "hooked" at the first visit to MCC, while walking on the 12 station prayer walk, spread over 10 acres specifically surrendered to seeking GOD on a daily basis. The Flower's first worship time together with the MCC family was a "concert of prayer" to seek God's will for His people.

MCC is uniquely situated to grow in a time when many have come back to the values of the Christian life and godliness. You will soon find that he loves his LORD Jesus and the True church Jesus calls his "bride". Those who walk in obedience to Christ are family. You will be accepted, loved and taught from God's word. Marv will focus his gifts of teaching, his love for people, and ability to communicate clearly on the process of helping you to grow as a disciple. Marv and Marge bring a lifetime of experience to share with you.

Marvin comes to MCC to challenge you to change your view of what it means to be a part of a local Church. Together we will find ways to experience a daily walk with Christ. He will help you to develop your personal gifts as you are nurtured in an atmosphere of love and acceptance. Regardless of where you have been, what your past experiences are, or what you have to offer, you will find that you are loved. Our goal is for you to feel the presence of the Holy Spirit in every part of your experience with MCC.

Speaking of Goals, Marvin comes to MCC with three goals for MCC.

Goal # 1 is for MCC to mentor and to disciple each person in Christ. Membership is the goal in some churches, but for MCC, we have chosen to see personal growth in the area of Discipleship as our highest priority. Every Christian can be a growing disciple. Membership should follow, but growth in Christ is our highest priority.

Goal # 2 is for MCC to connect with families. We will connect through weddings, funerals and intensive study of God's word. This goal will allow you to discover our refreshing freedom to re-discover the New Testament values and principles for a new generation.

Goal # 3is for MCC to be a visible, present and approachable part of our Greater Monroe Community. We see ourselves as "salt and light" for each community blessed to have a present or future Disciple of MCC. Folks are willing to drive to be fed from God's word, to be loved in a safe and nurturing environment, and to see the life changing force of God's values "fleshed out" in the lives of His people. Marvin wants MCC to be your place for growth. He thinks that MCC is one of the best kept secrets in Monroe County.
